Backyard Contentment

Sometimes I get the itch to "go somewhere" where I can take some pictures.  By somewhere I mean choosing a far off destination, looking through AAA tour books, surfing the web for information and packing everything in our car for a road trip.  However, for most of us, it is not practical to drop everything and go.

I recently read a quote:  "Nothing is miserable but what is thought so, and contrariwise, every estate is happy if he that bears it be content."  -Boethius

I thought it would be a good idea to practice being content.  So, since my camera is almost always close by, I went outside to see what I could find on my own "estate".  Here are a few of the things I found.

The last seven pictures are from a visit to the beautiful gardens of our friends, Daryl and Brenda Rice, where I found lots of fascinating creatures.
